Marvel Rivals Closed Beta Peaks at Over 52,000 Players on Day 1

Concord may not have been able to attract too many players with its recent beta, but it seems like fellow upcoming hero shooter Marvel Rivals is having much better luck.

NetEase Games’ free-to-play 6v6 shooter saw its closed beta kicking off on all platforms on Tuesday, and it seems to have got off to an impressive start. As per SteamDB, the game saw a peak of 52,671 concurrent players on Steam on the first day of its betaSports Betting. That’s an impressive number, especially for a closed beta. If the game is enjoying similar numbers on consoles, we might be looking at a sizeable audience keenly waiting to jump in whenever it launches in full.

NetEase Games has released multiple trailers for the game in recent weeks, highlighting several of its playable heroes, including Spider-Man, Venom, and Adam Warlock.

Marvel Rivals is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
